Another candidate for 58th district senate seat enters race

WEST SENECA, N.Y. -- A third candidate has thrown his hat into the race for the 58th district senate seat, hoping to oust incumbent Bill Stachowski.

Democrat Tim Kennedy made his run for the seat official Friday night.

Standing before more than 100 supporters in West Seneca, Kennedy pledged to provide the new leadership that will change Albany.

The current Erie County Legislator touched on several key issues including Medicaid reform, lowering taxes, and job creation.

"We are going to be focused on economic development. We are going to be focused on job opportunities being created here in Western New York so that we can the generations of Western New Yorkers who have had to leave Western New York to find opportunity elsewhere back home. And it’s about creating opportunity in Western New York," said Tim Kennedy, candidate for the 58th district senate seat.

Attorneys Mike Kuzma and Sean Cooney have already announced their candidacies.

Senator Stachowski has been in Albany for more than two decades.
