BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Sabres will finally take to home ice Friday night for the team's home opener against the Carolina Hurricanes.

New owner Terry Pegula has already made some big changes, and there’s sure to be surprises for fans at the First Niagara Center.

A video shot last week with Sabres fans will debut, as will new food choices for the new season.

If you don't have tickets to the game, you can still take part in all the action. The Sabres are bringing back the "Party in the Plaza" for the home opener.

Fans with and without tickets can come on down to the First Niagara Center plaza to party. The game will be shown on a large video screen.

Party in the Plaza kicks off at 5:30 p.m. Friday. The puck drops two hours later.
