Buffalo sports fans trade cards and memories at Historical Society
Sports fans of all things Buffalo had a chance to buy, sell, trade and check out some of the area’s rarest memorabilia.
The Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society hosted a Sports Card and Memorabilia Show and Sale.
Vintage artifacts from the Buffalo Bills, Sabres and Bisons were among some of the area’s rarest memorabilia.
More than 15 sports collectors showcased their vintage artifacts from the Buffalo Bills, Sabres and Bisons. Everything from pennants, pictures, trading cards and ball caps were up for grabs. Diehard collectors say the memorabilia offers a chance to connect to fellow fanatics.
“Even if you don’t sell anything, you still get to meet really cool people,” said sports Collector Sean Cummins. His grandfather is a former Bills booster club president.
“You also get to hear other people’s stories. They might pick up a program and say, ‘hey I was at that game.’ So I get to live through them,” added Cummins.
“The Bills 50th Anniversary exhibit downstairs opened up back in August,” said Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society’s Peter Burakowski .
“We started off with the first preseason game and we’re wrapping up with the Super Bowl. The Bills have such a great Super Bowl history,” Burakowski added.
