Gas prices expected to pass $3 mark
WESTERN NEW YORK -- The rising temperatures will fuel a price increase at the pumps.
Several industry analysts believe gas prices will top the $3 mark this spring.
Part of the increase is seasonal because in the spring, refiners switch to a more expensive blend of gasoline. The other reason has to do with a higher demand as more travelers hit the road during the spring and summer.
Right now, drivers in the Buffalo-Niagara region are paying an average of $2.91 for a gallon of regular unleaded. That’s up five cents from just a week ago.
The national average is currently $2.76.
