ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Two Western New York men got the surprise of a lifetime after ordering lunch at Taffy's in Orchard Park.

John Benbenek and his friend Ryan Bedder could not believe their eyes when they pulled a 34-inch curly q fry from their order.

They believe the fry is the longest in the world and the Guinness Book of World Records plans to verify its length.

Benbenek said he wasn’t sure what to do with the fry; “At first I was like, should I eat it? And I was like, no. After I held it up, I was like we got to see what the record is. We found a ruler, measured it and here we are now."

The fry is being kept in Benbenek’s freezer for safe keeping.

They pair will appear on Jay Leno's "Tonight Show" on Wednesday night to talk about their french fry experience.
