EDEN, N.Y. -- Police were called to a rescue Tuesday in the gorge at Eighteen Mile Creek in Eden.

Gary Buchanan, 42, was spotted in the ravine with an apparent head injury.

He had to be pulled out on a gurney by the Erie County Sheriff's helicopter and was taken by Mercy Flight to ECMC for treatment.

Police say they still don’t' know how he ended up in the gorge.
