TONAWANDA, N.Y. -- Some laid off workers from the General Motors plant in Tonawanda are heading back to work.
Officials from GM say 30 skilled trade employees and 12 production employees have been recalled from their layoffs.
They are heading back to the GM Powertrain Plant in Tonawanda to help tear out old equipment and put in new equipment for a new line of engine the plant is receiving.
It is part of an $825 million investment into the plant.
There are currently 159 employees still out of work.
