BUFFALO, N.Y. -- A new state law will push millions of dollars into Western New York development projects.
Under historic rehabilitation tax credit law, historic sites throughout Western New York can be revamped, bringing jobs to the area.
Developers met at the Lafayette Hotel in Buffalo to discuss plans for the historic building. Construction is slated to be complete by October 2011.
Assemblyman Sam Hoyt applauded the new legislation and its long lasting impact.
"We have to reinvest where there's existing infrastructure. That's the theme and concept behind smart growth. Its smart economics, it's good for the environment, it's good for the tax payer,” said Hoyt.
Other local construction projects under the legislation include the Genesee Gateway, the AM&A’s Building, and the Ailing and Cory Building.
