Congressman Chris Lee has been cleared of any wrongdoing concerning his fundraising activities and his involvement in financial reform legislation.

Lee was notified Tuesday of the decision by a letter from the Office of Congressional Ethics, which stated there was nothing that showed Lee accepting or soliciting contributions which led to special treatment.

"I was very pleased because we've always tried to be and maintain a high-level of transparency, and we opened them up, gave them everything they wanted and they looked through it all and came back that we lived well with all of the rules and was very pleased that our office was vindicated," Lee said.

Members of the ethics office voted unanimously to drop the case against Lee.

Three of the other seven lawmakers under suspicion in the ethics case were referred for further investigation.
