Buffalo, NY - Fire damaged a home in Buffalo's Lovejoy District and sent one man and two firefighters to the hospital. The fire broke out on the second floor of a rental property that has three tenants.
The tenant in the apartment where the blaze began has been identified as Paul Moskaluk. He was taken to Millard Fillmore Gates Hospital suffering from smoke inhalation. There's been no update on Moskaluk's condition. Two firefighters were also hurt, their injuries non-life threatening.
The other tenants escaped unharmed. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Samira Khalil has owned the building since 2006 and says the injured man filled his apartment with belongings, but mainly kept to himself. "Barely you see him actually, barely you see him," said Khalil. "He looks like he lives with other friend and just he have the house for his stuff. He never have electricity or heat or anything else."
It's been a dangerous couple of days on this block. Just the day before fire destroyed a home just two doors down on Benzinger Street.
