BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Buffalo Public School students headed back to school Wednesday morning and after two years away, students first day at City Honors was in a newly renovated building.

The new $43 million facility is now equipped with six computer labs, an Olympic size swimming pool, as well as a newly upgraded gymnasium and music department.

Buffalo Schools Superintendent Dr. James Williams said he is encouraged by the sense of pride he saw Wednesday morning, “I think the parents and the students are really catching on now to what we're trying to do and I think it's going to carry over into the school year, this year and we're looking forward to having a great school year.”

The renovation marks the completion of phase three of the $1.4 billion joint schools construction project.
