Lancaster man sentenced after child pornography sting
BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Lancaster man will spend time behind bars for attempting to receive child pornography.
According to U.S. Attorney William Hochul's Office, 68-year-old Joseph Marranca Junior will spend five years in prison and five years of supervision.
Marranca had been talking to who he thought was a 14-year-old girl online and asked her for pictures. The person he was actually talking to was an undercover police officer. He was arrested when he attempted to meet the girl at a park.
The case was a part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation.
