BUFFALO, N.Y. — Medaille College coaches kicked off March Madness with a happy hour to support Coaches vs. Cancer at the Pan-American Grille.

Coaches vs. Cancer is a national program in partnership with the American Cancer Society that encourages basketball coaches all over the country to promote cancer awareness.

It was head coach Mike MacDonald's idea to kickoff the annual basketball tournament with the fundraiser.

"This is the first year we've done this. It's a new plan to help expand the Coaches vs. Cancer brand and also get people out to watch the games and help support a good cause," he said.
