Maple Grove discusses football merger
ELLERY, N.Y. — Community members weighed in on the possible merger of Maple Grove Football with Chautauqua Lake Football during a public input session Tuesday evening.

Chautauqua Lake has proposed a 50/50 merger and the Bemus Point School board has formed a committee to explore the proposal. But many of those at the meeting suggested they would rather have Chautauqua Lake kids play under the Maple Grove name.

"I get the general sense that there are many people that want to look for alternatives. There are many people that want to make sure we preserve as much of the Maple Grove Tradition as possible," said Patrick Green, Bemus Point School Board.

The next board meeting is on Monday where the board may consider the football committee's recommendations.
