BUFFALO, N.Y. — It was a special day for Canisius senior Adam Weir. Not only did his team pick up a win over arch-rival St. Joe's, he also surpassed 1000 points for his career.

And it just so happened to be at the sold-out Koessler Center, where he'll spend the next four years of college as a Canisius Golden Griffin.

Weir finished with 22 points and Matt MacDonald added 20 points as the Crusaders beat St. Joe's 77-65.

St Joe's was led by Mark Cerza's 23 points, while Louis Oliveri dropped in 21. The Marauders played the 2nd half without two of their top players - Jordan Glover and Jaylen Morris - both believed to be injured.

It was the first of three possible meetings between the two teams. They'll play again at the Koessler Center in February, and could face off once more in the Monsignor Martin tournament.
