McKinley, Silver Creek Hoops Heading to State Semifinals

After an exciting Saturday of high school basketball action - McKinley and Silver Creek are preparing to represent Section Six in the state final four next weekend.
McKinley defeated defending regional champ Aquinas on Saturday in Class A. Marcus Morris had 16 points while Daequan Warren scored a game-high 19.
It's the third time in school history the Macks will be heading to the state semifinals. They'll face Bishop Ludden Saturday at 10:45 from Glens Falls.
"The feeling is great," said Warren. "We've been playing together since freshman year. Our coach told us we had a gift from freshman year, we just kept running with it from the start."
"It feels great cause we worked hard all year for it," Morris said. "This is what we were expected to do. We played our hearts out, we had to leave it all on the floor. We didn't want to go home with that salty feeling in our head, in our heart so we played McKinley basketball."
In Class C, second ranked in the state Silver Creek defeated Mynderse in the Far West regional. Billy Brooks had 13 points for the Black Knights, Zed Williams led all scorers with 16.
Silver Creek advances to its first ever State Final Four. The team will put its undefeated 23-0 record on the line against the state's top ranked squad, Pine Plains, Friday at 1:30 in Glens Falls.
"That was always our goal from the start," Williams said. "We had to take every game at a time but we're here now so we'll see how far we can go."
"It feels awesome," said senior Steve Marcey. "This school's never done it before. It's a one in a lifetime experience, it feels awesome. I wouldn't want to do it with anyone else."
