BUFFALO, N.Y. – February 18th was officially declared Count Rabbit Day in the city of Buffalo.

Buffalo mayor Byron Brown recognized musician Robert Robinson, also known as Count Rabbit, for his musical achievements over the years.

Rabbit was a local blues legend in the City of Buffalo back in the 1950's. He recorded the hit "Why Did You Go" in 1959, and was inducted to the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame in 1996.

"When you think about all of the great men and women down through the years who have performed the blues, who have sung this music, who have told stories through song, you have to talk about Count Rabbit," said Mayor Brown (D).

Count Rabbit was honored in one of many city Black History Month celebrations this month.
