BUFFALO, N.Y. — The message demonstrators from Reality Check
want to send – “we’ve seen enough.”
Reality Check is a program encouraging teens not be influenced by smoking ads in stores.
More than 130 teens from across Western New York met Thursday in downtown Buffalo to show exactly how they feel about smoking ads.
“I've been a part of this program for four years, and I really enjoy it and I've done a lot with it and I think its really important,” said Ashley Barry. “It sends a really good message to teenagers across New York that we're not replacement smokers, and I think that's what the tobacco companies think of us as.”
“We're all into this program because we need to let the big tobacco companies know that we're not going to fill the void of the lost and losing smokers or tobacco users and they can't use us to replace them,” said William Rutkowski.
