NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — A local supermarket chain is celebrating its 50th anniversary in Western New York with a 50 day campaign of promotions and savings geared towards customers.
Tops Friendly Markets kicked off the celebration at a Niagara Falls store location Wednesday, where Niagara County leaders gathered to congraluate company officials on their longtime presence in the community.
The company is celebrating by offering customers a variety of big deals, something city leaders say is nothing new for the family-friendly chain.
"The Tops organization has set the modern standard for service, quality and pricing, with its name being synonymous with food, family and friendship," said Paul Dyster, (D), mayor of Niagara Falls.
From now until the end of March, customers at all 132 Tops locations will receive 50 percent off select name brands.
