JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — The Chautauqua Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Council announced plans for a new education campaign named - Marijuana: The Real Deal - to teach people the truth about the dangers and issues with using marijuana.

CASAC leaders say that based on a current national survey, 36% of high school seniors admit to using marijuana in the past year.

The group will be organizing town hall meetings and they are open to invitations from groups to educate them with current information.

"We can do what we have to do on the law enforcement side but its addressing these underlying issues of what's causing these problems for the marijuana and the substance abuse. And its nice establishments like this where there are outlets to address these issues and subsidence concerns," said Captain Todd Isaccson of the Jamestown Police Department.

The event also included a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Mayor of Jamestown and other officials celebrating the move to their new location in the Sprinchorn Building on 3rd Street.
