The City of Buffalo animal shelter says Thursday was a good day for Phoenix the Jack Russell Terrier. They say he's been eating and walking around wagging his tail most of the day.

This comes just a day after he had a three-hour surgery to help repair burns all over his body.

Anyone who has information on who could be responsible for burning the dog is asked to call the Buffalo Police department at 716-847-2255.
