LANCASTER, N.Y. -- Some Erie County representatives took a tour of the county's Como Lake Park, Friday, to check out ongoing renovations.

County Executive Mark Poloncarz, Legislator Terry McCracken, and Parks Commissioner Troy Schinzel looked at the work that has been done, work in progress, and improvements slated to be done in the coming years.

The Bowen Grove Shelter, just outside the park, has received $65,000 in renovations, including a new roof, updates to electrical and plumbing, a new coat of paint and more.

Inside the park, some parking lots and roads have been resurfaced, and improvements made to shelters.

"As promised we're committing our resources and everything we possibly can making our structures, our buildings, our rentable space that much better," said Troy Schinzel, the Erie County Parks Commissioner.

Schinzel says the work at Como Lake Park and other county parks will continue next year.
