By: YNN Staff

WESTERN NEW YORK -- A Western New York woman will receive a large settlement after being wrongfully imprisoned for 13 years for her daughters death.

Wrongfully imprisoned woman gets settlement

Lynn Dejac Peters will receive $2.7 million from the state for the physical and emotional trauma she says she endured while in prison.

Her attorneys say they're now focusing on a federal lawsuit between Erie County and the City of Buffalo.

During a press conference this morning, DeJac's attorneys claimed there was a massive cover-up that led to the wrongful conviction.

Charges against Dejac Peters were reversed back in 2007, after D-N-A evidence proved she did not kill her daughter.
