BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo City Mission and volunteers served hundreds of traditional turkey dinners Tuesday.
It was part of the Mission's annual Thanksgiving Community Meal. Dinner included turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and pie.
This year, the mission says it's seeing more and more people come through its doors.
"The need this year seems to be greater than it has been. Due to the economy, we're having more families, about 56 percent of families, are experiencing homelessness for the first time in our area, and that's huge," said Aubrey Calhoun, Buffalo City Mission.
More than 250 dinners were served.
