CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY, N.Y. — The Chautauqua County Planning and Economic Development committee discussed the future of table gambling at Batavia Downs Wednesday evening, as the County considers a motion of support to be sent to Governor Cuomo.

Chautauqua county shares ownership of Batavia Downs and Off Track Betting with other counties and cities. New York State is considering table gaming to be allowed at some of the race track casinos, which could help the county budget.

"We got a little less than $400,000 last year and if it was a casino they figure it would double. Maybe up to $800,000 a year," said Jay Gould, (R), Legislature Chairman.

The motion will come before the full legislature on November 28th.
