HAMBURG, N.Y. — Police continue to investigate a crash in the southtowns that killed a man Thursday afternoon. It happened on Southwestern Boulevard and Pleasant Avenue in Hamburg just before 5 o'clock. Hamburg Police say a car driving on Route 20 crossed the yellow line and hit a dump truck head on. The driver of the car 62-year old Laurence Karmel of Orchard Park, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another vehicle rear-ended Karmel's car as a result of the head-on crash.
The drivers of the other two vehicles were not seriously injured.
No charges were filed in the accident.
