U.S. Army suicide rate released

The United States Army released some disturbing data on the rate of suicide among active duty soldiers. There were 20 possible suicides for the month of October alone. For 2012, there have been 166 possible suicides. 61 remain under investigation. In 2011, there were a total of 165 confirmed suicides. The Army encourages soldiers and families in need of crisis assistance to contact the National Suicide Prevention Hotline. The number is 800-273-8255 and Press 1, or go to Veterans Crisis Line. Both provide free, confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, even if you are not registered with the VA or enrolled in VA health care.
