Lewiston's Festival of Lights Kicks Off

LEWISTON, NY-- Thanksgiving may still be nearly a week away, but the halls are already decked at a Niagara County Christmas institution.

Our Lady of Fatima Shrine in the Town of Lewiston flipped the switch on its 21st annual Festival of Lights celebration Saturday. More than seventy-five arrangements that are on display were designed by the shrine's rector, Father Julio Ciavaglia. He says the festival is a good way to celebrate the holidays and honor the day of Jesus' birth.

Father Ciavaglia said about the festival, "Usually starts around July planning what we're going to do for this particular season, all that starts in July and no matter I think if we started later than that there's always that last minute crunch, that last minute hurry".

The show will be lit until January sixth.
