Rally challenges legislators to take progressive action
BUFFALO, N.Y. — Even though Democrats appear to have won back a majority of seats in the New York State Senate, control of the legislative body is still unclear, thanks to a small faction of Democrats that may note vote with their party.
But progressive organizations across the state are challenging legislators to take action regardless of which party's in charge.
Citizen Action of New York gathered in front of the State Office Building in Buffalo Wednesday.
They say progressive action, like campaign finance reform, pay equity legislation and laws to ban hydrofracking are the will of the voters.
