Nuclear research reactor to be demolished
Buffalo, N.Y. -- The University at Buffalo plans to demolish its former nuclear research reactor.

UB will share information about its plan for the Buffalo Materials Research Center this evening.

The reactor on South Campus has not been used since 1994, and its radioactive fuel has since been removed.

UB says it has permission from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to take down the building that housed the reactor, and make it a green field.

There's a public information session this evening at six thirty in Allen Hall on UB's South Campus.

You can find answers to common questions about the project at theUB website.
