Driver in deadly crash died of gunshot wound
BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Erie County Medical Examiner's office says the driver involved in a crash that killed a pedestrian died after he was shot by police.

Around 7 p.m. Thursday, officers tried to to pull over a car driven by a 48-year-old Issac Parker, who they believe was drunk.

Buffalo police say he took off, dragging an officer, and that prompted another officer to shoot at the car.

A short time later, Parker hit three street lights on Fillmore Avenue near the 33.

Police say one of the poles fell on 54-year-old Ida Murphy of Buffalo, who was on the sidewalk at the time.

Both the Parker and Murphy died at the scene.

The Erie County Medical Examiner's Office says Murphy died of blunt force trauma.

The officer who was dragged was taken to ECMC with minor injuries.

Because an officer fired a gun, Buffalo Police are doing an internal investigation.
