BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Buffalo Fire Department dedicated two new fire engines Friday morning. The rigs will replace two aging trucks which will now serve as backup units.

Engine 33 was dedicated for firefighter Michael Seguin, who died while fighting a fire in 1997. Members of his family came to the ceremony.

The fire department credits them for helping to get another important tool for fire fighting thermal imaging cameras. The tool helps fire fighters find people, animals and the source of the fire.

"You can see hot spots inside of walls, inside of areas," said Garnell Whitfield, Buffalo Fire Department Commissioner. "For instance, if we go to a call and there's an electrical problem. You can use that camera and pinpoint where that problem might be inside the wall."

This year the department purchased 35 thermal cameras.
