Man admits to stealing hundreds of thousands from elderly priest
BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Buffalo man who pleaded guilty to stealing half a million dollars from an elderly priest will spend two to six years behind bars.

Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita says 57 year old Richard Kesick of Laird Avenue admitted to taking $500,000 over an 11-year period by lying to the 91-year-old victim.

Sedita says Kesick claimed to need money to pay for emergencies.

Kesick also admitted to pretending to be other people on the phone and promising the victim the money would be repaid.

In addition to jail time, he has been given a $500,000 fine and an order of protection from the man he scammed.
