Alleged drunk driver crashes into pole in Orchard Park and knocks out power
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — A driver was injured and around 1,500 homes lost power when she crashed her car into a utility pole Tuesday afternoon. Police said the driver was allegedly driving under the influence.
The accident happened at the intersection of South Abbott and Armor Duells Road in Orchard Park around 4 p.m.
Police say 52-year-old Sandra Kaney was taken to ECMC with a back injury after driving through a stop sign and hitting the pole.
Kaney was arrested and faces several charges, including DWI.
She is due back in court January 15th.
