Bar owner pleads guilty to grand larceny
BUFFALO, N.Y. — The owner of a Buffalo bar has pleaded guilty to grand larceny after she wrote phantom checks and then used the money from depositing them.
According to the Erie County District Attorney's Office, 41-year-old Julia Greenwood stole nearly $4,500 on August 7th from Key Bank by writing checks from a Citizens Bank account and then depositing and withdrawing the funds from an account at Key Bank.
Greenwood, the owner of Roxy's, also admitted to using a patron's credit card for more than $800 in personal purchases from August 26th through August 30th.
She faces up to four years in prison when she's sentenced in March.
