Police Bust Walmart Shoplifting Ring
CLARENCE, NY -- Police say four people were involved in a shoplifting ring at a local Walmart store.
Three of them were employees who were were caught under ringing merchandise at the cash registers by letting people walk away with merchandise they hadn't paid for and stealing activated gift cards from unsuspecting customers.
Walmart says the group stole more than seven thousand dollars in giftcards and merchandise over the course of a month.
The four people charged with Larceny are: Evelyn Smith, Tacara Lawrence, DeWayne Harrell, and LaTasha Morrow, all of Buffalo.
They will appear in Clarence Town Court at a later date.
