Tonawanda beating victim dies from injuries
TONAWANDA, N.Y. — An elderly man who was beaten by his roommate in an adult care center last month has died from his injuries.
Town of Tonawanda police say 86-year-old Salvatore Trusello died from his injuries Thursday.
Police have arrested his roommate, 87-year-old Chester Rusek, in connection with his death. Rusek allegedly assaulted Trusello with a piece of metal and some rope on November 26 at the Kenwall De Paul Adult Care Center in Tonawanda.
Rusek is charged with felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
More charges are pending on the results of an autopsy.
