Joseph Todaro, pictured on the left, died Wednesday at the age of 89.

Todaro and his family opened La Nova more than 50 years ago, building it into a popular Western New York business.

Many members of his family help run La Nova on West Ferry Street in Buffalo and on Main Street in Williamsville.

Calling hours for Todaro are Saturday and Sunday, with a funeral Monday morning.
