BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Some of the world's best martial artists have been getting their kicks in Western New York this weekend.
Thousands of competitors have been at the Adams Mark Hotel since the day after Christmas for the 23rd annual National Blackbelt League world games.
Athletes from Central America, England, Ireland and throughout North America are competing for world titles in 120 different divisions.
Tournament producer Boice Lydell says the tournament is the super bowl of karate.
Lydell said, “Those that do come and watch it are amazed at the talent that is here. A lot of the talent players that have gone through the NBL have wound up in Cirque du Soleil, a lot are in Hollywood as stunt doubles or some of them as actors.”
Final rounds will continue Monday.
