WEBSTER, N.Y. -- A petition has been started to get Medals of Freedom for the four firefighters involved in the Christmas Eve ambush in Webster.
The petition on the White House's website calls for medals also to be awarded to the two firefighters who were killed, Mike Chiapperini and Tomasz Kaczowka.
The petition also seeks honors for the two injured firefighters, Joseph Hofsetter and Theodore Scardino.
25 thousand e-signatures are needed by Jan. 27 for it to be considered by the Obama administration. The petition can be found here.
