CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY, N.Y. — Chautauqua County Veterans Service Agency is looking to save taxpayers money by reducing a transport route to Erie, Pennsylvania.

The DAV, or the Disabled American Veterans group, has agreed to transport Chautauqua County veterans that want to go to the Erie VA Medical Center, while the Chautauqua County's VSA will continue to take veterans to the Buffalo VA medical center.

The move will save the VSA about $5,500 annually.

"What it will enable us to do is continue to update the van we drive, because we put hundreds of thousands of miles a year on this van. You can appreciate that, going back and forth to Buffalo and back and forth to veterans homes and the clinics and all around," said
Greg Edwards, (R) Chautauqua County Executive.

For more information, you can call the VSA at 716-661-8255
