OSHA issues fines against owners of West Seneca plant
WEST SENECA, N.Y. — A food production plant in the Southtowns has been fined by the Occupational and Safety Health Administration for allegedly violating workplace safety standards.

OSHA says Rosina Food Products Incorporated's plant in West Seneca, which manufactures frozen food products, faces nearly $55,000 in fines.

The violations come after an inspection that began in September. According to OSHA, deficiencies were found mostly in the operation and maintenance of the plant's refrigeration system.

OSHA says the plant did not have effective emergency shutdown procedures for the refrigeration system, which contains hazardous chemicals.

The company has 15 days to comply or contest the findings.
