PA church to reopen one month after deadly shooting
COUDERSPORT, Pa. — A church in Potter County, Pennsylvania will open its doors this weekend for the first time since a woman was shot during a Sunday service there.
The First United Presbyterian Church in Coudersport has been closed since the December 2nd murder.
Police say 53-year-old Darlene Sitler, the organist at the church, was shot by her ex-husband, 52-year-old Gregory Eldred, about 20 minutes into the service. Eldred is charged with first-degree murder.
The community will hold a candlelight vigil outside the church Friday night, and the church will open back up this weekend.
