LANCASTER, N.Y.-- After being sworn into office in Washington earlier this week, newly elected Congressman Chris Collins held a local swearing in ceremony in Lancaster Saturday.

Dozens of family, friends and local officials came to show their support for the Collins, who stressed that federal spending is one of the top problems in government.

Collins said he will be on the agriculture and small business committees, and that he will use his business background to help solve problems on the national and local levels.

"We have a spending problem, it is not a revenue problem,” Congressman Collins. “And to get us out of the mess were in, which is a 4 billion dollar-a-day deficit, we absolutely need cuts. We need to bring efficiency to government."

Collins also held local swearing-in ceremonies in Batavia and Canandaigua earlier this week.
