DEPEW, N.Y. -- Thousands of hungry people were in Depew Sunday for the third annual Buffalo Soupfest.

Twenty-eight local vendors served up dozens of different types of soups, everything from chicken noodle and chowders, to chicken wing and shepherd's pie.

The event was moved to the Heathstone Manor in Depew this year for extra space. The cold weather made for a perfect day to warm things up.

"It is something I've said before about Buffalo: we love gatherings," said Matt Carlucci, the Buffalo Soupfest founder. "When there's an opportunity to gather and eat and have some entertainment, Buffalo lives for this stuff."

Portions of the proceeds from the Soupfest go towards B-Team Buffalo.
