KENMORE, N.Y. — It was an eventful bus ride for some elementary school children in Kenmore as two school buses collided Tuesday morning, sending one into a building.

It happened around 7:45 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Military Road and Mang Avenue.

A bus carrying 32 children was driving down Military when it was hit by another bus. The second bus was empty and made a left turn onto Military from Mang.

"The two busses collided. One was making a turn the other was going straight. It ricocheted off one bus and hit the building," said Captain Felix Coniglio of the Kenmore Fire Department.

No children were on the bus that hit the building. About seven were checked out on scene but most boarded another bus on their way to school. Others were picked up by their parents.

The driver of the second bus was given a traffic ticket for not yielding to the right of way.
