BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Riverside high school senior accused of assaulting a 96-year-old-man in a violent home invasion appeared before a judge Tuesday.

Eighteen-year-old Justice Feggans was in Buffalo City Court for a preliminary hearing.

Prosecutors say he and two other people broke into a home on Longview Avenue in November. They say Feggans assaulted 96-year-old Levi Clayton before making off with some valuables.

The case will now go before a grand jury.

Feggans' family was in court for his appearance.

"Well, he's going to have to move forward with his life no matter what the outcome of the situation is, and I believe that despite this setback he can still make something good of his life," said Louise Salamone, grandmother.

Feggans' case will now move to State Supreme Court.
