Man arrested for allegedly stealing thousands in merchandise from Amherst Walmart
AMHERST, N.Y. — Police have arrested the man they say stole nearly $2,000 worth of merchandise from the Walmart in Amherst.
Police say Clark Echevarria left the Sheridan Drive store around midnight on January 6th with numerous Dyson vacuum cleaners and other items totaling $1,700.
Echevarria was recently arrested in Lancaster on unrelated charges, and is traveling to Springville to be arraigned on shoplifting charges there. Police say he'll then be taken to Amherst to be charged.
Echevarria is being held at the Erie County Holding Center.
