Deputy resigns following rape investigation
NIAGARA COUNTY, N.Y. — A Niagara County Sheriff's Office deputy has resigned following a rape investigation.
The Niagara County Sheriff says Kevin Rohde resigned last week.
Rohde was arrested in September 2011 and charged with raping a Niagara County resident in 1999.
He was fired shortly after his arrest, but had the right to a hearing process, which was underway until his resignation.
The sheriff says he's taken an Alford plea in the case.
