Coaches gather to help American Cancer Society
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Collegiate athletic directors came together Wednesday to talk sports and help raise money for cancer research.

It was all part of the Coaches Versus Cancer collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches.

Athletic directors from the University at Buffalo, Canisius College, Niagara University, Daemen College, Buffalo State College, and Medaille College talked about topics including student athlete development, training coaches and financing athletic departments.

Leaders say it's a great way to help the Coaches Versus Cancer program grow in the area.

"The American Cancer society is moving to bring that program across sports and asking coaches from all sports to participate so we can finish the fight against cancer," said Rich Jacob, Medaille College Director of Sports Management.

Since 1993, coaches have raised $85 million to support the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.
